Rooibos Tea

Tea obtained from the leaves of the Rooibos plant, also known as “Red Shrub”, which is grown in South Africa, is called Rooibos tea. Rooibos tea has nothing to do with the tea plant we know. However, with its aromatic taste and no caffeine, many brands have offered Rooibos teas to the market as an alternative to black and green tea in recent years. It grows in Cederberg, a small mountainous region of Western Cape in South Africa. Rooibos, a shrub-shaped plant, undergoes fermentation during processing, thus giving a red-brown color. On the other hand, the green one of the rooibos tea has not undergone fermentation. Red rooibos tea is sweet and fragrant, while green rooibos tea tastes herbal.
